David Coria
Born in Seville, he studies with teachers such as Paco Fabra, Lola Mesa, Aurora Bosh, José Granero, Juana Amaya, Alberto Lorca, Aída Gómez, José Antonio, Alejandro Granados, Andrés Marín, Carlos Robles, Ana María Bueno, Eva La Yerbabuena, Belén Fernández, as well as at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Seville, continuing his studies in flamenco and Spanish dance.
In 1998, he was selected to be part of the "Taller Flamenco" of the Compañía Andaluza de Danza, under the direction of José Antonio, performing in the show "Puntales" by Antonio "el Pipa", with the artists such as Juana "la del Pipa" ", Milagros Mengíbar and María del Mar Moreno.
In 2000, he joined the company of Aída Gómez, later participating in the film directed by Carlos Saura, "Salomé", based on the show of this company.
In 2001 he was selected to be part of the National Ballet of Spain, under the direction of Elvira Andrés, and later of José Antonio, performing in choreographies such as "Medea" by José Granero, "Danza y tronío" by Mariemma, "Fuenteovejuna" by Antonio Gades , "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Pilar López, etc ... as well as soloist roles in "Ilusiones FM" by María Pagès, "La Leyenda" and "Café de Chinitas" by José Antonio among others.
He has also been part of Estévez / Paños y Compañía in the shows "Flamenco XXI, Ópera Café y Puro" and "Sonata". In the productions of the company Rubén Olmo "Belmonte" and "Pinocchio", in the flamenco company of Rocío Molina with the shows of "Goyescas" and "Oro Viejo"; In the Fuensanta flamenco company "La Moneta", and intervened as a choreographer and dancer in the company of Rafaela Carrasco in the shows of “150 gramos de pensamientos”, “Con la música a otra parte” and “Vamos al tiroteo”, award-winning for the Seville Biennial of 2008 as the best choreography of the festival.
During the 2009/2010 seasons, he has been guest artist and choreographer of Massamy Okada's shows, represented in Tokyo, Japan.
At the beginning of 2010, he formed part of the show "Todo cambia", created for "Flamenco Festival" (E.E.U.U.) sharing the stage with artists such as Rocío Molina, Pastora Galván, Manuel Liñán and Belén López among others. Likewise, he returns to perform at the New York City Centre, together with Rafaela Carrasco, at the "Falls" Festival.
In June 2010 he premiered in Madrid, together with Guadalupe Torres and Jonatan Miró, his own show, "Momentos", at the Fernán Gómez theater, within the "Dance in the Villa" festival, obtaining excellent reviews.
In May 2011 he is a guest artist at the Alburquerque Flamenco Festival, sharing the stage with Carmen "La Talegona", José Maya and Fuensanta "La Moneta" among others.
In August 2011, he is a guest artist at the flamenco festival of Granada "Corral del Carbón", and later, he premiered his own show at the "Fringe Festival" in Edinburgh, obtaining excellent reviews.
He was named as Best dancer of the year in the German magazine "Tanz", specialized in flamenco. He has been a guest teacher at the Higher Conservatory of Dance of Madrid and participated as a guest artist in many flamenco tablaos such as "Casa Patas", "Corral de la Pacheca", "Corral de la Morería", "Villa Rosa" or "Café de Chinitas" .
He is currently a solo dancer, repeater and choreographer of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, that he combines with his choreographic project.
On March 6, 2014, ESPIRAL is premiered in the Sala Compañía, within the framework of the Flamenco Festival of Jerez.
